first_imgUrban Meyer visiting a deputy in the hospital.Franklin County Sheriff’s Office,/TwitterUrban Meyer took some time out of his busy schedule on Wednesday to visit a sheriff’s deputy who was injured in a shootout over the weekend.Jacob Heaberlin, a seven-year veteran of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, was struck by a bullet during a shootout with a suspect on Saturday. He is currently hospitalized.Heaberlin received a major visitor this afternoon in Meyer, who did more than just spend time with the injured deputy.Meyer took some photos and signed an autograph as well. More than 3000 will graduate this week

The first Convocation ceremony was held today. The ceremonies are being streamed live online.More than 3,300 students will graduate this week at Brock’s 2011 Spring Convocation, which takes place during seven ceremonies from Tuesday, June 7, to Saturday, June 11.All ceremonies will be held in the Walker Complex at the west end of campus, in the Ian D. Beddis gymnasium. There will be an outdoor reception for graduates, family members and other guests after each ceremony. This week’s ceremonies will also be streamed live at livestream.com/brockuniversity.Tickets are not required.
