first_imgBuncrana GAA Notes For Week Ending Sunday 14th October, by Oisin DohertyCondolences: The Club wishes to pass on its sympathy to the McNamee family, Buncrana, on the recent passing of their mother and especially to former player Matthew McNamee.Bord na nÓg: Please note that the Bord na nÓg AGM will be on Sunday 21st of October at 7pmin the clubhouse. Senior Football: Our Senior sides were in Championship action again this weekend, with the second legs of the Intermediate Championship being held in Burt on Saturday evening. Both sides will be happy to have recorded wins and are now firmly focused on the quarter finals which will see both Buncrana sides take on neighbours Carndonagh, Senior scoreline – Burt 1-7 Buncrana 1-9. Reserve scoreline – Burt 1-2 Buncrana 2-12U16 Hurling: Hard luck to the Club’s Under 16 Hurlers, narrowly beaten in the County Final Replay on Saturday 29th September by 2 points. The lads have put in a great effort and were very unlucky not to complete a unique hat trick for us having secured the U14 and Minor titles already. Signs are good for the future and no doubt these lads will be back again and well done to all involved.U10 Football: Training continues every Friday at 7.00pm at the Scarvey and new players are always welcome.Boys U14 Hurling: Boys U14 Hurling training takes place at the Scarvey every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7.00pm. If you haven’t played before and are interested in playing Hurling please feel free to come along. Boys U14 Football: Training for the boys U14 team will take place on Monday evening at 5.00pm. New and returning players are always welcome.Boys U14 & U18 Hurling: Hurling training for boys aged 14 to 18 years takes place every Saturday at the Scarvey at 3.00pm-5.00pm. New players are always welcome.U8 and U10 Hurling: Hurling training for children under 8 and under 10 years takes place each Sunday at 11.00am. If your child would like to learn the basic skills of hurling in a safe and fun environment please come down and try it out, new players are always welcome.Sale of club gear: Orders are being taken for club gear and there are two special Christmas Pack Offers: (A) Windcheater (Emerald Green), Hat, socks & shorts, Boot bag, Hoodie, Bottoms.
